Last week my son’s school asked me to make a cake for their Sports Day, which happens to be tomorrow. The cake is to be a raffle prize.
The theme for the day is Rule Britannia and the colours red, white and blue. Keeping this is mind, my cake is inspired by the Royal Crown.

Ran into a lot of trouble making this one! My online orders didn’t turn up on time. The bottom layer collapsed under the weight of the crown. Wasted one whole day waiting around for supplies and baking extra cake! However, lots of last minute running around to the local art shop ensured it was finished on time. On the positive side, I am now more confident with carving shapes and using wooden dowels 🙂
